Nominations are now open for the 2018 local Australia Day Awards in the following categories:
• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Event of the Year
Upper Lachlan Shire Council Mayor Brian McCormack OAM said the Awards, presented annually by Upper Lachlan Shire Council, are an opportunity to recognise and acknowledge members of our local community who have made positive contributions.
"The Upper Lachlan Shire has a wonderful sense of community and there are many individuals and community groups whose contributions often go unrecognised," Cr McCormack said.
"The Australia Day Awards are an opportunity to honour our unsung heroes for their outstanding contributions to the local community."
Nomination forms and the eligibility criteria are available via Council’s website (www.upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au/council/other-public-documents) or from Council’s offices in Crookwell, Gunning and Taralga.
Nominations close at 4.00pm on Friday, 20 October 2017.
A selection committee will assess all nominations in strict confidence. The winners will be announced on Friday, 26 January 2018 as part of Council’s Australia Day celebrations.
