The Garage Sale Trail is a national initiative that sees hundreds of thousands of people from across Australia participating in one big weekend of garage sales.
Mayor Brian McCormack OAM said Council was proud to get behind this year’s Garage Sale Trail.
“The event is an opportunity for residents to clean out their sheds, garages and cupboards and make a few dollars from items they no longer have use for,” Cr McCormack said.
“The Garage Sale Trail also has environmental benefits by promoting the reuse or repurpose of items, which may otherwise end up as landfill or be illegally dumped.
"I’d encourage individual households, as well as large groups such as whole streets and community organisations to take part in this wonderful event."
To register for the Garage Sale Trail visit: https://www.garagesaletrail.com.au.
To report illegal dumping go to https://ridonline.epa.nsw.gov.au or call EPA’s Environment Line on 131 555.
Hard rubbish can also be disposed of free of charge at all tips in the Shire on Clean Up Australia Day, which will be held on Sunday, 4 March 2018.
