The timing of the visit is in the lead-up to the auction of their renovated house – along with the four other contestants’ – on Saturday, October 28.
They will head to Melbourne after Crookwell to prepare for the big event.
Sticks – aka Mark Croker – is the son of Geoff and Tracey Croker, who were both born and bred in Crookwell.
Mark’s grandparents – Syd and Dell Davies, and Wal and Shirley Croker – are well-known Crookwellians, too.
Sticks even spent considerable time in his youth working at Crookwell IGA as a storeman and is well known to many in town.
He and mate Wombat have been real characters this season and made huge impressions on viewers.
Their five-bedroom property was listed last week, headlined “the true character of The Block” and could sell for more than $2.4 million.
Known for adding hidden features and extras, their house already has seven pre-registered buyers and another seven groups looking through it.
“What a bonus to get them to Crookwell,” said Floyd Davies of Crookwell IGA.
“We are expecting a large crowd. The feedback from locals and customers has been amazing.
“IGA will be … having lots of giveaways on the day. There is a possibility Wombat may not be able to make it due to another engagement, but we are doing all we can to get him here.“
- See them at the IGA on October 18, 3-5pm.
