She has been announced as one of 24 finalists, chosen ahead of hundreds of other women to be in the running to be crowned Miss Supercars 2017.
Ms Cairncross headed to the Gold Coast on Tuesday and will find out on Saturday whether she has been successful.
“I am very excited to be in the running for this title,” she told the Gazette.
The 2017 Miss Supercars Sports model search is a new ambassador program and official support event for the Virgin Australia Supercars Gold Coast 600, which takes place this week over October 20-22.
Ms Cairncross was featured as a Maxim magazine Model of the Year seven months ago in March and has her sights set on winning Miss Supercars and making her home town proud.
The 2017 winner will take on media appearances, television interviews and corporate responsibilities, a share in a $20,000 prize pool, including a photo shoot on track, a new Supercars mentor program, red carpet Supercars gala events and various Supercar round experiences.
Ms Cairncross, the daughter of Sharlon and Glenn, grew up in Taralga, was schooled at Taralga public from kindergarten to Year 4, then Crookwell Public for years 5 and 6.
She attended Crookwell High and now works at the Neighbourhood Centre in an administration role.
She is also completing a Bachelor of Business in marketing and advertising at Charles Sturt University.
“My interests are V8 Supercars, fitness, cooking, motorsports, all sport and I keep fit by playing soccer and tennis. I like to cosy-up with a good book!” she said.
“I enjoy hiking and I also ride my motorbikes at home on the farm in my leisure time. My ambition would have to be owning my own business.”
Why Miss Supercars?
“I love everything V8 supercar racing and I am devoted to the sport,” she said.
“I would love to see the sport expand and grow within Australia.”
