A variety of hats were worn by members...some very innovative and some fit for a Melbourne Cup.
June Weise Zone Councillor from Canberra was judge and awarded prizes to Elizabeth Baxter, Sally Hutchings, Mary Willis, and highly commended Lyn Green.
Teapots filled with pink camellias and decorated bottles filled with strange items helped create a whacky atmosphere.
Guest speaker Mandy McDonald shared her extensive knowledge of various teas and passed around samples of compressed teas for members to inspect.
Several members reported on their visit to the opening of the new Smith Family store in Auburn St Goulburn.
A highlight of this was a speech by Caitlyn Blowes outlining how the Smith Family "Learning for Life" has helped her achieve.
Crookwell View Club will welcome her as a guest speaker at the January meeting.
The Club is proud this year to be sponsoring two "Learning for Life" students.
The Smith Family store motto is ‘Buying is Giving’ and money raised supports The Learning for Life program.
Guest speaker at the October 24 meeting at the Services Club will be Councillor Pam Kensit and her topic is; ‘It’s ok not to be ok - but its not ok to do nothing about it’.
