In years past, cast members often brought their children along to rehearsals and whilst parents were on stage, their children were sometimes out the back of the hall asleep on mattresses.
As time progressed, some of those kids also took to the stage, or helped out as crew members.
They enjoyed a special bonding experience with their parents.
And this year's production is no exception.
Veterans of CADS, Robert and Sandra Bill and Coll O'Reilly are thoroughly enjoying having their grandchildren join the ranks for "Outback Debutante Ball," by Australian playwright, Judith Prior.
Marnie and Ethan Davis and Tiarna and Taleisha Bill are no strangers to the stage, each having taken part in KAOS productions over the years.
Marnie and Ethan have settled into their roles extremely well and are having fun along the way, while Tiarna and Taleisha are proving invaluable in the line dancing sequences.
Proud grandmother, Sandra said: "Robert and I are very excited to be able to work with our granddaughters in this upcoming CADS show.
"We've been involved with the girls in KAOS and when we needed some extras, they were only to happy to step up, as they love the stage." she said.
"Acting must be in our blood." Coll said.
"It's not that easy putting yourself out there on show and I'm proud to see what my grandchildren are capable of."
Outback Debutante Ball, is another story of family.
The family of community, through good times and bad.
But, in good Aussie humour, this play shows the spirit of the outback folk.
