The top competitors will be exhibited at the Crookwell Show on Sunday February 11, 2018.
The ANZ Agribusiness group are the continuing as major sponsor of this event.
Local merino studs, drench companies and local business houses also support this popular event.
At the recent annual general meeting of the Flock Ewe committee, Shannon Arnall was return as head steward to again run this very successful competition.
Michael Lowe retained the position of Secretary.
The meeting was informed that the Boorowa Flock Ewe committee has gone to a split competition for two and four tooth maiden ewes.
The Crookwell meeting voted unanimously to stay as a two tooth competition.
As this is coming up as our tenth year the committee has secured Matthew Coddington "Roseville Park" Dubbo as our new judge.
Matthew was one of the judges at our first competition.
He will be joined by Craig Wilson, our returning judge.
In conjunction with the ten years of competition, the committee is planning a dinner to reflect and celebrate the success of the ewe competition.
This will be held at the Crookwell Services Club on the evening Janurary 25, 2018 at the conclusion of judging.
More information on the dinner will be forth coming as details are finalised.
Once again there will be two sections in the competition.
A spring shorn section, with sheep shorn from September 1, 2017 up to judging day.
Sheep shorn prior to this date will be in the long wool section.
The top four judged in each section will be exhibited at the 2018 Crookwell Show.
The wool and mutton markets are both very strong and increased on-property ram sales this year the competition is a great place to compare wool and body types.
The on-farm judging of the local flocks will take place during January on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25. This competition, in its tenth year, has grown into one of the largest of its kind in NSW.
Last year twenty entries were received and already interest has been shown from new competitors for this year's event.
New competitors are encouraged to enter this competition and any assistance needed will be available from the Flock Ewe committee.
A bus will be following the on-farm judging in January.
More information on the travel arrangements for the bus will be published when full numbers are known.
