Their first game was against a very strong and well drilled team from Parkes Public School.
These boys had played hockey for years and walked onto the pitch assuming they would have an easy game against our boys who come from a range of sports, many never having played more than four games of hockey in their lives.
Much to their shock, our boys came out on fire with enormous determination and frustrated the boys from Parkes who could not seem to put the ball into the net.
At the end of a very nail biting game our boys unfortunately could not hold out the very strong team from Parkes, going down 3-1.
Parkes went onto win the tournament so our boys should be very proud of their effort against this team.
The second game was against Redhead Public School and the boys came out even more determined after the first game.
Even though players were unwell and boys were battling with injuries they played with so much passion, determination and enjoyment that we should be incredibly proud of each and every one of the boys.
The boys found the back of the net winning comfortably 4-0 resulting in the boys from Crookwell gaining the title of third place in the state!
The school says a huge thank you to all the dedicated parents and supporters who travelled all over the state for games, the boys for their tireless effort, sportsmanship and determination and finally, Mrs McGregor who continually devoted her time and wisdom to the team.
