Throughout 2017, a record 429,000 Australian Bass have been stocked into dams across NSW, including 2000 this week in Pejar Dam near Crookwell. The record number of Australian Bass were produced at the Port Stephens Fisheries Institute, exceeded the 413,000 produced back in 2013. The DPI has stocked Australian Bass into 32 dams throughout the Central West, Hunter Valley, Northern Rivers, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands.
Golf report
The 2017 Crookwell Golf Club Championships played in memory of Brian Dennis got under way on the weekend with two rounds played over Saturday and Sunday.
Some very good scores and some very ordinary scores were returned over the two days.
Leading the way was Phillip Fester McCormack who is leading C grade over John Mendl by nine shots.
Phillip is currently 10 shots under his handicap to be leading the way in the race for the Keith and Helen Badgery sponsored watch for the best net score over the four rounds.
A grade is being led by Dan Costello, who holds a 4 shot lead over Tim O’Keefe.
B grade leader is Dan Picker, 5 shots clear of K D O’Brien.
Nett winners over the two days were:- Saturday A Grade, T O’Keefe 71, B Grade K D O’Brien 69 and C grade P McCormack 62. Sunday:- A grade D Costello 70, B grade G Seaman 69 and C grade P McCormack 62.
This weekend will see the final two rounds played and the Championships decided.
A BBQ will be operating at about 4pm for presentations at approximately 4:30 -5 pm. All members and families are invited for the afternoon where the family of Brian Dennis will present the 2017 Champions with their trophies.
Twilight Tennis
Calling off tennis last week ended up being the wrong call as the rain did not return until 10:30pm. Better this week hopefully. The round for this week is:-

Monday/Tuesday Evening Tennis
The opening round of the now expanded Monday and Tuesday evening tennis competition was played last week. Due to more interest from players it was decided to run the usual Monday evening comp over two nights to allow for more games. It has been well supported this year.
