The Crookwell Progress Association [CPA] has recently been successful in applying for the use of land for a ‘Crookwell Community Garden’ from the Upper Lachlan Shire Council.

The garden will be situated on the corner of Colyer and Park Streets Crookwell.
The Progress Association has partnered with the Crookwell Neighbourhood Centre for the development and sourcing of funding of this project.
They have recently been successful with a Funding of Community Ideas (FOCI) application from Uniting Ability Links for $27,065.50.
Mr John Bowker, Ability Links project manager at Uniting said: “We were thrilled to be able to back such a great idea as to create a community garden in Crookwell.
“It is incredibly important that everyone has the chance to be a part of such a project and providing concrete paths and raised soil beds helps to ensure that those with limited mobility can do so.
“We can’t wait to see what these green fingered gardeners can grow.
“We hope there’ll be enough goodies to share around!”
The grant funding will cover disabled footpaths, raised beds and other infrastructure.
Further funding is still being sourced for stages two and three of the project.
A steering committee has been formed and the works will soon commence.
Community groups are now invited to take part in the project.
