It was a very proud moment for our command this last week when our very own officer, Senior Constable Kim Finch, was recognised by Rotary for her selfless dedication to her local community, winning the Rotary Community Award.

Senior Constable Finch has been a very welcome addition to our command, joining us from Moree last year and taking up residence as the lock-up keeper at Marulan.
Ever since, she has not only served her local community of Marulan but the whole of the Hume community with pride and professionalism, giving up countless hours of her time to look after her community. She gave up rank and seniority to transfer to Marulan and Marulan is all the better for it! Police do not do their job looking for recognition or any plaudits, however as her commander it is always pleasing to have the efforts of our police recognised, especially when that recognition comes from the community she serves!
Over the last few days I saw more examples of great team work from our people. Monday morning saw two offenders who were on a crime spree being chased through our area. Great teamwork from a cross-section of our people, including general duties, detectives, Polair, dog squad and of course highway patrol officers, saw the two lunatics caught up with in Wollongong. I am sure most of you would have probably seen the footage doing the rounds through social and general media; if you haven't I recommend you do! The chase ended up with a great result, ending the crime spree of these two who have now been charged with numerous offences and hopefully off our streets for a long time to come.
Until next week.
