A new $360,000 grader replaced an outdated grader and two new ride-on mowers were delivered to the council’s works depot, valued at $22,562 each.
One of the mowers will replace an older model mower, which will be donated to Gunning Golf Club. The other will be an addition to the fleet.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council general manager John Bell said the new equipment would allow its works crews to carry out work more efficiently across the shire.
“The new grader uses 3D GPS technology, instead of 2D technology, which allows the operator to gauge fill levels faster and with greater accuracy and reduced driver error,” Mr Bell said.
“The new mowers are diesel powered, which means they are more fuel efficient.
“The introduction of an additional mower to the fleet will allow the council to carry-out more timely maintenance of parks and other council-owned grasslands in the shire’s outlying towns and villages.”
