Proceeds from the gold coin donation for this fun activity was passed along to the Grabben Gullen Community Hall and Grabben Gullen Community Progress Association.
The face-painting stall also provided show attendees with information about BJCE’s three renewable energy projects: Gullen Range Wind Farm, Gullen Solar Farm and the proposed Biala Wind Farm.
Grabben Gullen Community Hall committee secretary Pam Reeves said the money raised at the show would be put towards asbestos removal at the hall.
Gullen Range Wind Farm has contributed about $500,000 in community benefit and sponsorship locally since commencing operations in late 2014.
The yet-to-be-built Biala Wind Farm will also inject $90,000 annually into community enhancement programs locally once it is operational.
“We sincerely believe giving back to the communities in which we operate is an integral part of what we do,” said BCJE project manager Tim Mead.
“We’re thrilled to be able to help two local charities make a difference in Grabben Gullen.”
The Gullen Range Wind Farm Community Fund provides grants to projects or initiatives that benefit the community within 10 kilometres of the wind farm.
This year’s funding round will open on Tuesday February 20, and community groups or projects are encouraged to apply before Friday April 13.
