Council was holding their monthly meeting and it was an opportunity to thank Mr Gay for the support he had shown the Shire during his time as NSW Minister for Roads.
This was also a way to thank him for his service to the people of NSW as a senior Member of the NSW Legislative Council Mr Gay resigned from the Ministry in January.
Mr Gay has a property in the Upper Lachlan Shire and has always called the area home.
“In his near six years as the NSW Minister for Roads, Mr Gay assisted Council in securing funding for more roads projects than any other Minister before him,” Mayor McCormack said.
“From the sealing of Main Road 248 East between Crookwell and Taralga to the construction and sealing of State Road 54 from Crookwell to Bathurst, the Shire’s road network benefited from significant upgrades during Minister Gays time in the role.
“Yesterday’s morning tea was a small way for Council to show their appreciation for the support Mr Gay has shown the Shire and the investment the NSW Government has made in our future.
