Member for Goulburn Pru Goward last week announced the third round of Fixing Country Roads is open and a share of a further $100 million is available to councils throughout the Goulburn electorate for upgrades to roads, bridges and truck washes.
The first two rounds saw the NSW Government commit more than $4.6 million for nine projects in this region.
Cultural Funding
Upper Lachlan Shire Council is pleased to announce the opening of the 2017/18 Cultural Funding program.
The aim of the cultural funding program is to support new initiatives in the Upper Lachlan local government area through small grants which may assist locally determined community cultural activities that increase opportunities for Upper Lachlan based groups to access a diverse range of arts and/or cultural programs.
A limited number of small cultural grants of up to $500 are available primarily for wages/fees, travel, accommodation and materials.

The grants may also enable communities to explore and express their cultural identities bringing social and economic benefits to the community through, training, employment and promotional opportunities.
This may lead to greater awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity and enable funding to assist communities establish new initiatives.
Some other costs associated with the project may be included but artist’s fees and expenses are the main focus of the program. The projects must take place between August 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018.
Applications are now open and must be postmarked on or before Friday July 7 and forms are available on the council’s website.
Tourism events
If you are thinking about hosting a new event or your annual event is coming up but needs funding help, then applications are now open for the the Upper Lachlan’s Tourist Association’s 2017/18 event funding program.
The aim is to support events that make the greatest contribution towards achieving the objectives of the Upper Lachlan Tourism Strategic Plan.
The program offers grants in two categories; new events and existing events.
All applications must be received in writing prior to July 7, using the application form and are to be forwarded to the attention of the Tourism Manager – Upper Lachlan Shire Council – PO Box 303, Crookwell NSW 2583.
