I believe that the 2017 Festival did that, with flags flying, potato bags topped with flowers and great street entertainment, Goulburn Street looked welcoming to all.
While I did not get downtown, I was told the town was busy and people were enjoying themselves and businesses were busy.
There are many people that I want to thank publicly.
The local people who attended the Festival.
Approximately 50% were local and the remainder came from Tasmania, Queensland, many areas in NSW and the ACT.
Sponsors - your sponsorship enabled the Committee to publicise the Festival, engage entertainment and special activities for children.
Volunteers - the people who worked on the entrance gates, assisted with the cooking demonstrations, organised the kids games and the rock climbing wall and driving the buses around town and to the eco farm and placing the potato bags around Crookwell and then collecting them.
Without your help and support it would not have been possible to have the Festival.
The Committee - what a group of eight.
It is a pleasure to work with you throughout the year as we planned for the 2017 Festival then packing the potato bags.
On the Friday before, up at the showground, setting up and on the day from dawn to dusk doing everything possible to make the day great for everyone.
A special thanks to Paul Anderson of the APH for all the advice and support he gave to the Committee as we worked through all the planning with the move to the showground.
Also worthy of a special mention is the Crookwell High School Catering Group.
They were professional, efficient and presented food of a high quality.
Congratulations to all of them and their teacher Treacy Marks.
Your families school and community should be very proud of their achievements.
The Committee has received many constructive comments which we will take into consideration as we begin planning for the 2018 Festival.
