Twenty-six players braved the cold and wet conditions with Dom McCarthy leading the A graders home with 36 points.
This won him the guzzlers mug.
Dom also had a win in the match play first round.
Dom was two down with two holes to play against Dan Costello and Dom birdied the last two holes to draw the match and so they headed up the 19th where Dom produced another birdie to win the match… great golf!
B grade winner was Peter Reid on 33 points over Steve Keough on 32 via a countback.
This week is Jack Lillyman Day sponsored by Spackman Motors, a single stableford but more importantly it the annual Lefties v Righties Challenge.
Previous years have seen victories to the righties over a very poor, leaderless rabble, diabolical performing lefties side, but they have informed the club that they are ready to perform this year and once again make a competition out of it.
The rest of the members in the club can only hope so or this competition might head the same way as the NRL City Country Game, a distant memory where fathers will tell their children what is was like in the good old days.
See you on the course!
