AAW SOCCER
The Crookwell AAW soccer team head into this Saturdays Grand Final after a fantastic season where they only lost one game. Meet the players:
Annie Croker: (Captain) 40 goals this season, is very dangerous in front of goal and is always marked heavily. Teams now she’s a threat.
Grace Smith: Is the engine pushing the team along, an absolute workhorse, just never stops, an integral part of the team.
Holly Evans: New to the team this year. Has great ball skills and finishes well. Excellent support to Annie.
Lily Panne’: A powerhouse in defence, probably the best defender in the competition. When she tackles you, you know it. Is currently injured.
Laura O’Keefe: Great footwork and skills, always gives 100%. A very underrated player. Loves to play tricks on the coach.
Susie Brennan: Has improved immensely the past two seasons. Is a real team player that won’t stop.
Kami Boerma: New to the team, has good skills and work rate. Is a great addition to the team.
Gemma O’Brien: Good head on young shoulders. Ice cool under pressure, works hard in defence and has stepped up since Lilys injury.
Olivia Croker: Has improved this season and has made the right back position hers. Works hard and not afraid to tackle.
Rebeka Picker: Extremely versatile player, cam play just about any position if needed. Has filled in as keeper and has done a great job.
Brooke Taylor: Great skills, tackles hard and loves being on the field. Has also filled in as keeper and does a great job.
Jessica Ryan: Very fast up front which makes her a handful for defenders. Injuries have curtailed her season and hasn’t been able to make as big an impact as she would like.
Amy Parry: For a player who has never played soccer before, she has done a fantastic job. Has been unstoppable in defence, with a never say die attitude, work rate second to none and calm under pressure, she has been a revelation this year.
Annika Picker: Has helped the team out immensely in the last few weeks by playing in goals. This girl is a player to watch in the next few years.
They play Hill Top at 12.45pm in Bowral Saturday 16 September 2017.

Prizes were sponsored by K D O’Brien.
Full scores: 41 T O’Keefe, 36 S O’Brien, 35 S Hall, 34 D McCarthy, B Carruthers, 33 C Banfield, 31 B Hearne, G Johns, A Gilbert, 29 C Francis, M Secomb, 28 P Reid, D Costello, J O’Brien, 27 B Jordan, T Reid, 26 D Carter, T Johns, 25 K D O’Brien. Big thanks to all the volunteers who assisted with the greens renovations over the two days last week. Without the help of our dedicated volunteers, we wouldn’t have a course in the condition that it is. This week is a 6x6x6 stableford with prizes sponsored by Laggan Inc.
