Sue Reedy has been the coordinator of this project for many years and said she would love to keep this going for many years to come.
The generosity of the Crookwell people has been overwhelming again this year.
“It is not too late to give items towards boxes.” she said.
You can get boxes from Duncombe and Co and the Gazette Office or you can leave single items in those collection points.
The deadline for the boxes is October 13. Donations are also accepted for postage of the boxes at $10 per box.
Ideas for the boxes include; something to wear, t-shirt, polo shirt, shorts, skirt, cap, beanie, pyjamas or sandals.
Something to love; teddy bear, dolly or soft toy.
Something they will find special; carry bag, sunglasses, bangles, necklaces, craft kits, a personal note or a photo of yourself.
Some things for their schooling; exercise book, pencil case, pens, pencils, colouring pencils, sharpener, eraser, chalk.
Something to play with; tennis ball, cars, skipping rope, marbles, musical instrument, yo-yo, finger puppets or a wind-up torch.
Something for personal hygiene; soap and face washer, toothbrush, hairbrush, comb, hair ties, ribbons or hair clips.
You can choose which gender you want to buy for, or here’s a challenge - do a box for both a boy and a girl.
