JUNIOR SOCCER

Splendid Spring weather played host to the weekend of grand finals and gala day activities for Crookwell Junior Soccer.

The B grade grand final kicked off on Saturday and promised to be an evenly fought game from the onset. Tyler Smith from Blue opened the scoring with a goal in the early minutes which was quickly answered by Charlie Cramp popping one in for Black. The game continued neck and neck with Seth Grove and Max'e Reynolds also scoring for Blue and Victor Woods for  Black. It looked like the game would come down the wire at 3 all but in the dying minutes Blue scored again and time didn’t allow Black to even it up. The team play and skill level during this game was exceptional and a pleasure to watch. Final score 4-3 with Blue taking home the winners trophies.

The A grade grand final was played on Sunday morning. This game between Grey and Geen was going to be soccer at its best and that’s what we got. Jacob Griffith came to the game with his best and wasn’t going home without that winners trophy. He scored a haul of 4 goals with Sam McGregor scoring 2 more just to make sure of it. Unfortunately Grey had no answers to the green machine who played a well executed game. The high quality of soccer seen in this game by both teams is testament to the great competition played in Crookwell developing the kids skills and teamwork through the ranks to be at the top of their game. Final score Green 6, Grey 0.

Gala day activities started with the remainder of b grade playing a game with 2 balls! It was certainly a hard one to watch let alone play! C and D grades played some muck around fun games as well. A jumping castle provided lots of fun for the C and D graders. But the event of the day had to be the Bubble Soccer with all players in A and B grade giving it a good go, laughing lots and having awesome fun. This was a real hit with kids.

The Under 13s… both into the grand final played Saturday 23 September 2017 at the Goulburn Workers Arena– Crookwell Griffins in Division 1 and Crookwell Red Division 2.
