Bitumen Resealing
The first stage of Upper Lachlan Shire Council’s 2017/2018 Bitumen Resealing Program commenced last week. The bitumen resealing will be carried out on select Council streets and rural roads until Friday, 20 October 2017, weather permitting. Upper Lachlan Shire Council’s General Manager John Bell said motorists may experience minor traffic delays while this important work is carried out safely, to standard and without unnecessary delay.
“Council asks motorists to take additional care when travelling on newly completed works and obey posted advisory signage and traffic control arrangements. Care should also be taken to avoid accidental bitumen damage to floors and carpets due to the works,” Mr Bell said.
Mattress recycling
Mattresses deposited for recycling at Council’s waste and recycling centres are collected by Soft Landing Mattress Recycling.
Since 2014, around 725 mattresses from the Upper Lachlan Shire have been recycled. The cost to residents is $35 per mattress. The recycling costs to Council are around $40 per mattress.
Mattresses can be recycled at Crookwell, Gunning, Taralga and Collector waste facilities.
