The annual event showcases the amazing singing and dancing talent drawn from public schools with students performing in this year’s event living up to the theme, Own the Moment.
Our students joined a cast of more than 5700 primary and high school public school students from across NSW in four breathtaking performances at Qudos Bank Arena at Sydney’s Olympic Park.
Schools Spectacular once again traversed the broad spectrum of entertainment from dramatic ballet accompanied by the 80-piece symphony orchestra and 2700 voice choir through to musical theatre with bouncy hip-hop and pop tunes.
In a Schools Spectacular first, a 150-strong drama ensemble performed with custom-made larger than life dragon puppets.
Schools Spectacular, the world’s largest amateur variety show, offers something for everyone with its variety of musical hits from the past and present.
This year’s extravaganza featured and celebrated music from The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Disney's Moana, Ariana Grande, Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, Bruno Mars and the hottest musical theatre numbers direct from Broadway including Dear Evan Hansen.
A bus load of students from Crookwell Public School and Crookwell High School were wowed when they attended the Friday matinee performance.
Many students are eager to audition for the highly contested event next year.
Schools Spectacular will be televised on the 7 Network on Saturday evening December 16…. watch it and be amazed!
