Singapore not only recycles 62 per cent of its waste, but operates a waste for energy incinerator that substantially reduces the burden of landfill.
Singapore is looking to utilising the residual ash from their incinerator as part of their road maintenance program (meaning that there is no further landfill issues).
Shame this form of energy generation/landfill reduction has not been (at least) looked at for the Upper Lachlan Shire.
