Some decades ago I was in the main bar of a now closed hotel in Crookwell (it may have been the Royal).

Adorning the wall was a large photograph of a train arriving in a snow-bound Crookwell in 1904.
The pic would have been taken just two winters after the line opened in April 1902.
While some may have seen that photograph on post cards – and I do have a very tattered and torn copy [as reproduced here – I would like to learn what happened to that large pic from the hotel and perhaps be allowed to re-photograph it for the family archives.
The reason is that my understanding has long been that my grandmother, Ethel Butt, actually took the photograph.
Although she was a florist, she doubled in commercial/wedding photography.
Alternatively, someone in Crookwell may perhaps have a cleaner smaller copy of the image in a lower drawer and allow me to do a high resolution scan?
I have left my contact details with Bronwyn at the Crookwell Gazette or call me on 0438 203 801.
