The purpose of the Community Garden is to encourage social interaction, create a space where fresh produce can be grown and shared and provide an activity for residents to enjoy and share their knowledge.
Brian Faulkner, vice president of the Community Garden’s steering committee said, “This grant will enable us to erect signage at this site.”
The Community Gardens have received prior grant funding from Ability Links and are waiting the final approvals from Council prior to commencement of works. Their first working bee is planned for January 14.
Susan Reynolds, Upper Lachlan Foundation Board Member presented the cheque for $500 to the Committee at the site and said, “This is a marvellous project and we are excited by its prospect to engage with residents.
“The ULF supports community groups providing services and activities at a local level and this demonstrates our pledge of ‘give to where you live’.
“Memberships, business partnerships, donations and bequeaths are invested and managed by The Greater Good with interest earned coming back to our community to benefit many.”
