The 2017 Crookwell Dogs had a successful season. Winning the premiership on their home ground after losing only one match all year was near enough to perfect. Coming off the clubs first overseas tour to New Zealand in 2016, a triple defence of the Upper Lachlan Cup against Taralga and several new signings both on the field and in the sponsorship corner, partnered with the home premiership was more than anyone could have hoped for.

The Dogs finished 2017 a hot ticket, but 2017 was last year. 2018 is here and the Dogs are keen to not only defend their title, but continue to improve at being a club that business houses want to be associated with, spectators want to watch, and players want to play for.
Plans are well underway for a successful season on the field, but prior to the start of the season the Dogs will embark on a very special mission.
On March 24 a dedicated group of Crookwell Dogs players and support crew will travel to Savusavu in Fiji. The town is located on the south coast of Vanua Levu Island and had a population of roughly 3,300.
When Tropical cyclone Winston struck Fiji in February 2016 it decimated the small town and to this day, much of the towns basic infrastructure requires work. This is work that Governments cannot provide grants for. This is work that is necessary to return Savusavu to the kind of day to day running that we all take for granted.
A team of experienced tradesman/Crookwell Rugby players headed up by foreman Aaron Leighton and featuring Will and James Croker, Charlie Zouch and Logan Boyd will join with a local provincial Rugby Side to help rebuild the Savusavu local hospital.
The Crookwell Rugby Club welcome any corporate support for their Fiji rescue mission. The boys are also happy to roll their sleeves up to complete any local works that may benefit from a keen group of hard working individuals to help fund their trip.
Please contact the club at crookwellrugby@gmail.com if you or your business would be interested in hiring the Dogs or if you are able to offer any form of assistance to this worthwhile cause and to keep up to date with all Dogs news log on to www.facebook.com/Crookwelldogs .
