The point scoring round of the Australian Barrel Races Championships was held at the Crookwell Showgrounds during January with riders from all around the State in attendance.
Record entries and first class facilities ensured a successful weekend of competition.
Barrels for Bianca was firstly run two years prior at Corryong in memory of Bianca Picardi, a young lady who tragically took her own life.
Bianca’s mother Sue, vowed to turn the tragedy into a positive and with the help of family friends and the Upper Lachlan Foundation, set up a trust fund titled ‘Bub for Life’.
The earnings of this trust fund will be used to run programs in all areas of mental health and youth resilience and help to shine the light on Bianca’s life motto ‘Be Kind’.
Helping the fund by donating back the hire fees of the grounds was the AP&H and Crookwell Lions donated their profit from the weekend back to the fund.
Many local businesses and private families also donated money to the fund.
Around 200 people shared a meal on the Saturday evening which also included a charity auction and raffle.
Sue extended her deepest gratitude for the support shown from the community.
