Budding local poets have been invited to participate in the Crookwell Potato Festival Junior Australian Poetry Competition.

Participants have to be school aged with a passion for poetry.
On the day, participants will have to read or recite a poem with Australian content or theme as part of the Crookwell Potato Festival on May 12.
Reading will be held at the Crookwell Wesley Centre from 2pm.
The poem can be an already published piece or something originally written.
No points will be deducted for the choice the participant makes.
Judges on the day will grade the clarity, pace, expression, gestures and connection with the audience.
The prizes will range from a $20 to $50 Myer giftt card.
There will be separate divisions for primary and high school students.
Entry forms can be collected at the Crookwell Visitor Information Centre.
The closing date for applications will be on May 4.
Entry for this event is free.
Entry forms will need to be taken to the performance on the day.
