The Anzac legend was born on the shores of Gallipoli over 100 years ago and it is right that we never forget what they have done for us and how they have shaped the great country that we live in.

I have had the chance to experience ceremonies throughout the area and have always appreciated the effort that towns; both small and large, have made and the reverence that is displayed.

Whilst the majority of us will never truly understand the extent of what our service men and women have had to endure, Anzac Day is a special time that we must never forget.

It is also an opportunity to teach our children about why they need to carry on the tradition and appreciate the sacrifices that have been made and continue to this day, with service men and women on active duty around the world.

It is also great to see so many young people and school students becoming involved in their towns marches and special events and I look forward to sharing this day of remembrance with my family.
