Special guest, Costa Georgiadis from Gardening Australia was the theme for one section, “The Costa Geordiadis Likeness” judged by His Excellency, Breandán Ó Caollaí, Ambassador of Ireland to Australia and Mrs Carmel Ó Caollaí who were amused and delighted with the originality of the event.
Costa Geordiadis was especially impressed with the potatoes representing himself and took photos of all the entries in the section and thought they were wonderful. Costa was an enthusiastic fun- loving man, making time for all the children waiting to speak with him near our potato display.
Additional sections were judged by Norma Jamieson and Sue Reedy who found this year’s entries to be of very high standard.
Crookwell CWA encourages the artistic talent of our local youngsters and entries came from pre-schoolers and primary students and a display section from their teachers.
Crookwell CWA members, Gai Goesch, Lillian Marshall and Sally Carson were impressed with the quality of the entries and thank all who put their artist mark on our local potatoes. They were very much enjoyed by the visitors to the Festival.
Crookwell CWA look forward to even more entries next year and congratulate the following:
