About 45 vehicles were entered in the ride which travelled from Gunning, Taralga, Crookwell and Goulburn on Sunday, April 22. 

Perfect weather greeted motorists as they travelled to various stops across the Shire. Raffles were drawn across the day and about 80 people joined the community cruise.

“Mick and I would like to sincerely thank everyone that came along [with] a special mention to the Crookwell Car Club the Iron Mine Cruisers for putting the word out to their various members and friends,” part-organiser Andrew Clements said. 

“Thank you to the people that travelled from Narooma to be a part of this and also the many people and business houses that donated goods for the raffles.” 

The cruise raised  $1151.75 and will go towards new walking frames with brakes, and further equipment the Wellness Centre need.

This donation comes close to another contribution by the Lackanooky Bay Fishing Club in the form of weights and wheelchairs.

Wellness Centre staff member Debbie Webb said the centre was an incredibly valuable asset to the region, and thanked community groups for continuing to invest in the unique service.

“The community is on board with this and it’s great to see,” she said.

“When people donate money and equipment it keeps people in the region and services the whole community.” 

The Wellness Centre, located alongside the Crookwell District Hospital, provides a range of health treatments and services.
