The primary discussions, which spanned for close to two hours, included a presentation of the draft integrated plans, the 2018/2019 Operational Plan and the draft 2018/19 Delivery Program.
According to Upper Lachlan Shire Council acting general manager Gary Woodman, concerns raised on the night included; the kerb and guttering bill, a roundabout request on Goulburn Street and Colyer Street, B-double access and the aesthetics of the Kiamma Park and creek.
The council were commended for recent Clifton Park amenities, the sealing of MR54 State Road to Tuena and water treatment facilities.
Only 13 people attended the outreach meetings in Taralga and eight in Gunning, a number he said the senior staff were not expecting.
“Community sentiments related to future plans of Council and their town were generally positive,” Mr Woodman said.
“ULSC staff were expecting a few more people but my experience with similar rural council is much lower numbers.
“These meetings give the community access to councillors and senior staff and their input can be used in consideration of the draft plans. The community may raise concerns and advise issues that they consider need attention by council.”
Information gathered will be investigated by the council staff or noted.
He said the council agencies will be contacted depending on requests, and road safety issues will be “immediately investigated and remedied”.
- The final meeting will be in Collector this Wednesday at 6.30pm.
