Meet Lady Godiva
The curious question circulating in Crookwell’s Main Street is who is playing the role of Lady Godiva in the Crookwell Amateur Dramatic Society’s up and coming production of the rollicking comedy of the same name?
For those familiar with a bit of Medieval English history, you will be aware that the Lady Godiva famously rode naked through the City of Coventry to protest the severe taxation imposed on the poor by her miserly husband.
So who among the cast’s nine local identities will take on this challenging role just as Crookwell plunges into winter? Be assured that all will be "revealed" on the night. CADS musical stalwart, Helen Campbell, who is arranging the snatches of music interspersed throughout the show, has assured everyone that it is not her.
Meanwhile, the cast has begun rehearsing in the Crookwell Memorial Hall, home of CADS, in readiness for Opening Night on Friday, June 22, one of the four BYO supper show nights. There will be one matinee theatre seating performance on Sunday, June 24, starting at 2pm.
Grab a party of friends and form a table for some naughty but funny moments in the goings-on at Mercia Castle, or should that read some funny but naughty moments?
Bookings are open now at the Crookwell Visitor Information Centre. For more information please contact the Crookwell Visitor Information Centre Ph. 02 4832 1988
