There are a lot of services and products where you’re better off going to a local business.
It stands to reason that for anything involving installation, especially if it’s vital to the operation of your business, you’d want someone who is located nearby and feels personally accountable to take the job and the responsibility for it.
Surely that logic would apply to telecommunications, right? Strangely, it doesn’t, or at least this attitude isn’t nearly as widespread as it could be.
Tablelands Communications is a local family-run business based just down the road in Goulburn.
It is owned and operated by Paul Falk, who has been in the telecommunications industry for more than 35 years.
Being local, that means they don’t use overseas call centres and “We don’t just send you a parcel in the mail and get you to install it,” Paul says. “We come and install the router for you.”
INFORMATION NIGHT
At 6pm on May 30 at Crookwell RSL you can find out about connecting to the NBN in this area and ask other questions that Paul can help you with.
ABOUT THEM
One point of difference Paul illustrated was “We are not commission salesmen,” which means “We provide you with your needs.”
He is also confident they offer great value. “Our prices are very competitive, with most domestic saving 10 to 15 percent and commercial up to 40 percent”.
For commercial customers “We check out all your services; eftpos, security systems, emails, etcetera. We can upgrade your telephone system and provide you with full support,” and “We get you NBN-connected with little or no down time.”
The process for commercial customers:
- “We agree on the plan required.
- “We organise connection of NBN without disruption to existing ADSL or phones.
- “We will discuss cut-over with your IT providers, prior to the connection date.
- “We cut-over NBN and get it operating on all your existing equipment.
- “We will get existing numbers ported to NBN network and install phone system, on the porting date. During the porting process, your phone system will operate as normal.
- “We make sure your staff understand operation of the telephone system.
- “There’s no interruption to business”.
For domestic customers:
Paul says there’s “Very little downtime; possibly three hours on the day. Your existing phone line will continue to work until your number is ported. The technician will install your NBN and connect any devices to it.”
