Filming took place with actors walking along the street and a final shoot at Irene’s Antique Shop hosting a cast of gnomes which were animated for the commercial.
The many participants were genuinely interested in the location, enjoying what was a good autumn day.
We will have to wait and see how Gunning features in the commercial, especially the gnomes.
Bon Voyage Again
Local artist Margarita Georgiadis is once again taking up residency in Paris for three months. She left on Tuesday, June 5 to enjoy a European summer in the best of locations.
Prior to her leaving, Margarita had opened the Picture House Gallery on Sunday, May 27 for an exhibition and warm celebration to allow all to wish her well in this next residency. Visitors were greeted by Max Cullen with a lovely little cup of not so alcoholic ‘mulled wine’ to put you in the mood to view the beautiful art inside around the roaring wood fire.
On Margarita’s return, there will be more impressions of the beautiful city and perhaps even own a piece of.
Bob Heads to Ireland
Tuesday was a busy for people flying out of the country with Bob McHugh heading to Ireland to prepare for his four-day brevet. In the days leading up to his departure, he was a frequent visitor to Gunning and the shire, training for what is a major undertaking.
Bob will spend the time leading up to the Mile Failte 1200 commencing on June 23, riding around other parts of Ireland and preparing to taper for the event.
I will publish updates on his progress as they come to hand and wish him all the best.

Held from 6-7.30pm on Wednesday, June 20 at the Crookwell CWA Rooms, the free training session will be an opportunity to learn how to navigate the .id statistical program, which is available to use, free of charge, via the Upper Lachlan Shire Council website.
To book a place at the training session, please contact the council’s environmental services officers Donna McGeechan or Kim Anderson on 4830 1018.
Solving Mobile Reception Issues
Despite the addition of Telstra mobile tower infrastructure in Dalton, local mobile reception remains a challenge.
There are solutions available to locally boost mobile voice and data within a premises or group of premises which are costly if borne by an individual. There is also a matter of providing reception for all carriers. It appears there is still some way to reaching an equitable solution in this space.
