The new centre, developed by the Ricky Stuart Foundation in partnership with the ACT Government, will provide short-term respite accommodation for young people with disability –including autism – and their carers.
Located in the northern suburb of Cook, the centre will be run by The Disability Trust.
Mr Woodman said Emma Ruby House would be of enormous benefit to families within the Upper Lachlan Shire.
“The Disability Trust will provide support to enable young people with disability to stay for a few hours or overnight, giving their carers a short-term break and the peace of mind that they will be cared for in a positive environment,” Mr Woodman said.
