ULSC new powers to inspect home-based food businesses

From July 1, the council will have powers to inspect home-based food businesses, presently the role of the NSW Food Authority. The update to the Food Regulation Partnership agreement will enable the council to inspect domestic kitchens where food is prepared for sale, such as markets or school canteens etc. Affected businesses must notify the council of food activities in writing:
