On May 9, 32 members had a wonderful day on the paddle steamer Nepean Bell.
The weather was absolutely beautiful and a lovely lunch was served and the day was enjoyed by everyone.
Friendship Day
May 16 saw seven members venture over to the Panthers Club at Bathurst for the annual Probus Friendship Day.
Our members were made very welcome along with many members from Probus clubs all over NSW, approximately 250 in total. They were treated to both a lovely morning tea and lunch. Many thanks and congratulations to the Bathurst Probus clubs for their friendship and hospitality.
Next year’s Friendship Day will be held by the Orange Probus Club, so here is hoping there is enough interest from Crookwell members to be able to take a bus over.
Guest speaker
The meeting on May 21 brought in Dave Stirton, a local apiarist, who gave a very interesting talk on the keeping of bees and production of honey.
Everyone could have listened to him speaking for much longer, but time was of the essence. Dave may well be invited back to continue his talk in the future.
Meetings
The Probus Club caters for active retirees with trips, shows and talks by guest speakers on items of interest.
Probus meets the third Monday monthly (next, July 16), 10.30am, Crookwell Services Club. New members welcome. Call 4835 3168.
