All three of their senior teams have made it through to the finals, and the Men’s side has dominated the year to finish as Minor Premiers.
This has left the Devils’ sides with an absolutely full calendar leading into the next few weeks.
The men’s side is the only team which will receive any respite. Following a strong 44-6 win over the Boorowa Rovers last weekend, the Green Devils will have this weekend off.
This Sunday’s action will feature a qualifying final between the second-ranked Harden Hawks and third-ranked North Canberra Bears, and an elimination final between the Boorowa Rovers and the Bungendore Tigers.
The outcome of these matches will decide who Crookwell will host in the semi-final on Sunday August 26.
However, the Youth League and She Devils sides will have a harder path through their respective finals.
The Youth League most recently played against Harden Boorowa, and were the recipients of a razor-thin 28-26 loss.
Harden Boorowa’s revenge for their round nine loss to Crookwell (also by two points) means that they have held on to their second place standing on the ladder, slightly above the Green Devils in third.
This result has confirmed an immediate rematch between Crookwell and Harden Boorowa, to take place this Sunday in Harden.
The winner of this match will then take on the Minor Premiers in the Yass Magpies on Sunday August 26.
The League Tag side also finished in third position, below Harden and Bungendore.
Last weekend, the She Devils played the Boorowa Roverettes and were unable to break away, as they finished with a 16-16 draw.
The She Devils will also play this Sunday, in a qualifying final against Bungendore, set to take place in Harden.
The winner of this bout will then move on to play the Harden Hawkettes on August 26.
That all three Crookwell teams have made it into the finals provides them with a unique opportunity.
Although the Green Devils’ senior side made it into the grand final in 2017 (where they lost a nailbiter to the Harden Hawks), neither the League Tag nor the Youth League sides were able to do the same.
Crookwell will hold out hope for a trifecta, and given that both the League Tag and Youth League sides came within two and four points respectively of defeating their divisions’ Minor Premiers during the season, they will fancy their chances in finals.
