Mr Woodman has been acting general manager since May while permanent general manager John Bell has been on long service leave.
Mr Woodman brought almost 32 years of local government experience to the role, including almost six years as general manager of Cobar Shire Council and secretary of the Cobar Water Board, almost nine years as manager of engineering services at Warren Shire Council and over seven years as director of operations at Singleton Council.
That experience allowed Mr Woodman to provide a steady course in Mr Bell’s absence and enabled for a seamless transition for councillors, staff and the community.
During his time at Upper Lachlan Shire Council, Mr Woodman has also offered a fresh perspective on how key outcomes can be achieved for the community.
He has overseen the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Goulburn Mulwaree and Yass Valley Councils, the introduction of recycling disposal at the Bigga and Tuena Waste Transfer Stations, and the impending roll out of a kerbside garden waste collection service across the shire – among other projects.
On behalf of the council and staff I would like to thank Mr Woodman for his contribution to the community while in the role, and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.
Mr Bell will resume the role of general manager on Monday, August 27.
