Floyd Davis and TOMRA Cleanaway have been working towards the installation since November 2017.
“We are ready to go,” said Wade Giddings, Partnership Development Manager at TOMRA Cleanaway.
Initial delays were subject to EPA approval, that included noise issues, and a trip up over the supply of power have since been resolved. Installation teams were also focused on the Sydney greater metropolitan area, and rural and regional installations will recommence October 22.
Although, an official date for installation in Crookwell has not been provided, Mr Davies believed it is imminent.
A manual return and earn collection point was established at IGA last year, employees and volunteers from local charities collected, counted, and paid out cash. Mr Davies later reported the impact back to TOMRA.
“It has been six weeks without the manual return and earn, we’ve been inundated with requests,” said Mr Davies.
The return and earn machine will be in the car park behind IGA, it gives a 10 cent refund on most cans and bottles.
