The annual race returns to Laggan Hotel Saturday, November 17 with 16 crustaceans competing for the cup.
This year, the form guide has 16 yabbies each named after politicians, including Prime Ministers.
The knockout competition will see the final two yabbies face off in the Clawfield Cup at 3.30pm.
“Each race lasts a couple of minutes. The first to the outer edge wins,” said Simon Bill.
His hot tip is wildcard ‘Angus Taylor’, number 16.
‘Kevin Rudd’ holds the fastest track run of seven seconds and is the yabby to beat.
Entertainer Kevin ‘Bloody’ Wilson (not a yabby) is also anticipated to make an appearance before his show at Crookwell RSL.
Auctions will be held before the first race. Yabbies can go for $800, said Mr Bill.
Crowds are expected to top 200. It’s getting bigger every year, he said.
