Laggan Market, December 8
The final Laggan Market will be held this coming Saturday, December 8, 9am-1pm.
The Christmas markets are the biggest market of the year for the Laggan Markets, Karin Schaefer said.
“There will be over 50 stalls, with gifts and stocking fillers with lots of variety.”
The markets have had a successful year, and recently received news of a nomination for the event of the year for the Upper Lachlan Shire Council Australia Day Awards.
Money raised from the 2018 markets would be going towards the preservation and rejuvenation of the floor in the Laggan Memorial Hall.
“Last year we replaced the wooden windows which all had to be individually made.
“The builder thinks part of the floor, which will be sanded and oiled, could be the original flooring.”
Market vendors will be selling baking good for the Christmas table, Belinda Foley will display farm produce, and eco-friendly goods, including fridge bags and wraps.
“Which will make great presents for people who are concerned about the environment.”
There will be candles, jewellery, garden art, scented candles, “lovely” fudge, olive oils and olives, lots of craft.
It is also the final market of the year and they will restart in February.
Nominations are council and Australia Day community regard nomination as an honour in itself and the extent to which the event it is valued at the community.
