Peelwood and Fullerton Rural Fire Service crews were alerted to a fire in the Wallaroo Creek area of the Abercrombie River National Park about 2.45pm on Thursday.

After a helicopter confirmation of the location of the ground crews were stood down, as it in inaccessible country, well within the National Park and three or so kilometres from an access point.
Southern Tablelands Rural Fire Service Operations Officer said the fire appeared to be about 30 metres by 30 metres and a remote area crew were to be winched in to make a better assessment of it.
An update; at 6pm on Thursday evening, indicated that the fire had grown to about two hectares but was in the process of being controlled.
