SDN Crookwell Preschool has rated in the top three per cent of centres that were compared to a national benchmark for early education and care providers.
The preschool, which has been providing early childhood education since the 1970s, received averages that exceeded the National Quality Standard.
Centres were rated in seven key quality areas and SDN preschool exceeded the national quality standards in its educational program - learning and development - as well as planning, physical environment, relationships with children and their families and communities.
The education centre met the national standard for other areas that were assessed.
Evaluations and assessments are completed by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority.
15,787 children’s education and care services are approved to operate under the national quality framework.
Data released by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority showed that of the 5451 centres that were assessed in New South Wales, 1509 exceeded the national quality standards, while 1261 per cent were working towards meeting the criteria and 15 required significant improvement.
SDN was assessed in early December 2018.
