The event, which is run by the Taralga Australia Day Rodeo Committee, should be held alongside the Rodeo on the Australia Day weekend, but was cancelled due to the unavailability of cattle donors within the district.
A spokesperson from the event’s committee said, they hadn’t been able to organise suitable cattle.
A message on their website states, “Over the past years we have been able to secure enough cattle from generous donors within the district to enable us to run a very successful one day campdraft.”
The event is usually limited to entries of around 300 runs, it read.
On Facebook, the conversation said, that the cancellation of the campdraft was due to the unavailability of local cattle due to the dry and drought conditions.
“Here’s hoping for a better season ahead,” it read.
The Upper Lachlan Shire Council advise that there would be no changes to the Taralga venue for the Australia Day local awards presentation.
