The Crookwell Amateur Lifesaving and Swimming Club donated the blankets to replace the old, and worn blankets.
The new blankets assist with heat retention in the main pool when temperatures drop overnight.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council’s General Manager John Bell said, the council’s pool attendants had noticed up to three degrees difference in the water temperature since the installation of the blankets. The new pool blankets are also much easier for pool attendants to pull in and out of the water.
The purchase of pool blankets was made possible with a $15,000 grant under the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program and support from Upper Lachlan Shire Council.
