iVote
People can still register to use iVote internet and telephone voting up until 1pm on election day.
There are eligibility requirements to use iVote. Check at elections.nsw.gov.au
You can vote using iVote if you:
- are blind or have low vision
- are unable to vote without assistance or have difficulty voting at a voting centre because you have a disability or have difficulties reading
- are a silent elector
- live more than 20km from a voting centre, or
- will be interstate or overseas during election day.
NSW Electoral Commissioner John Schmidt said voters requiring assistance at voting centres should approach election officials for help.
"Accessibility information about each voting centre is available on our website or by calling our elector enquiry centre on 1300 135 736," he said.
Democracy Sausage
Some booths with food in Goulburn and the greater electorate include:
Dalton Public School will be having a mini fete between 8am and 1pm, with snags and burgers, egg and bacon rolls, raffles and prizes, cakes, books and plants, plus fun games and face painting for the kids.
If you're heading into Canberra, Collector Memorial Hall on Bourke Street will be having a market day, raising funds for the Collector Community Association. Browse stalls with olive oil, wine, honey, preserves, fruit and veg, Devonshire tea, home-spun and homemade garments, art and crafts. Indulge with a sausage sizzle, bacon and egg burgers, vegetarian options, cakes and coffee. And, uh, don't forget to vote.
Or, if you're up the Hume to Sydney, stop by Wingello Public School on Murrimba Road, which is still in the Goulburn electorate and will have a cake stall and sausage sizzle hosted by the P&C to raise funds to update the playground for the children. Nice!
Out and about
If your local booth has food and drinks or market stalls on show, let us know with a pic or comment on our Facebook page: facebook.com/CrookwellGazette
Or if you're just out and about with the kids and pets, enjoying an autumn day free of politics, share a snap with us on Facebook, too.
Your candidates
How-to-vote cards will be available at booths showing the flow of preferences (though not all candidates have determined preferences to other parties).
