The Crookwell soccer's Under 15 team's first game of the 2019 season was played in Goulburn last Saturday in the Association Cup.

They played a newly formatted round robin competition of four games and came away undefeated despite only having 10 players. They dug deep for their final against Stags, and eventually came away with a 2-1 win.

For their first outing as a team, they all showed some great teamwork and excellent passing to get the ball to the centre for some fast goals. Thanks goes to Zach George for filling in as coach on the day.

Crookwell U13s: Runners-up

The Under 13's team also played in Goulburn on last Saturday. Their first opponents were Workers Blue team. It took the newly formed Crookwell team a bit to find their feet, but as the game progressed they took control and won 9-2.

The second game was a 6-0 loss to a dominant Stags Black side, however Crookwell was not disheartened, and won its third game against Gunning 6-0.

In the semi-final, Crookwell came up against the Soldiers Green. In a very close game, they won 4-2, which took them into a final against Stags Black again.

Unfortunately the polished Stags side was too good for the Crookwell U13s side, which came away runner-up. A big thank you goes to fill in coach Scott Roberts for his time and enthusiasm.

All players are to be congratulated on a successful day, all players represented themselves and club with pride and left everything out on the field.
