Mr Magann, of the Sawtell Returned and Services Leagues sub-branch, will attend the commemorative services for Anzac Day in Bigga.
In the Phuoc Tuy province, Mr Magann served as an infantry rifleman in 2 RAR/Anzac battalion. On his arrival in the Phuoc Toy province, he was deployed as a rifleman with C COY 2RAR.
He was on duty in ambushes and search and destroy missions, and served in operations as a rifleman, machine gunner and scout for a platoon. His battalion saw 13 killed in action and 68 wounded. The enemy casualties amounted to 110.
Mr Magann will address the service about the challenging future of Legacy as president of the Coffs Coast branch, and the lesser known, although significant, battles fought in South Vietnam.
"Most Australians I would imagine are familiar with the battle of Long Tan during which 18 Australians lost their lives. However, the battles of Coral and Balmoral Fire Support Bases are relatively unknown."
Twenty-six Australians, and 300 Vietnamese, were killed in action in battles that raged for three weeks.
